I am now 13 weeks pregnant
(yay second trimester and hopefully done with the “all-day sickness”!)
The first trimester of my
pregnancy was rough:
-
Nausea is
something I got so used to feeling that I didn’t think I would ever feel normal
again. It was so frustrating some days
when your tummy was growling because of hunger but the thought of eating even a
couple saltine crackers would make you dash for the washroom.
-
Mood swings were
another thing that I wasn’t 100% prepared for, like I thought PMS was bad… Boy
was I wrong!! Patrick handled it all like
a trooper and was a huge help/encouragement.
-
I will admit,
this pregnancy I have had a lot of fear and doubt. I wonder if I’m going to be a good parent, I
worry constantly about the labor and delivery, I am terrified of losing this
baby, and I’m very scared about the pain and recovery even though EVERYONE says
childbirth is the most natural and wonderful thing. At times it’s so hard to be positive and I
have to force myself to think that it will all be worth it.
-
Vivid dream
constantly wake me up in the night. I
have bizarre dreams about my dog being a contestant on doggy game shows on TV,
scary dreams, and even dreams that are based in the 1920s. Pre-pregnancy I did not even remember my
dreams so it’s taken some getting used to.
Some positives in my life
right now are:
-
I am getting
married in 9 days to the man of my dreams!! So glad all of the planning is done
and now we can relax!
-
It was a HUGE relief
to discover that I’m marrying a man who will do dishes, vacuum, pickup after
the dog, even do laundry and cook without a single complaint or even me having
to ask him… he just does it. I am beyond blessed that he is my partner and best
friend. <3
-
My puppy Bailey
who is always waiting by the door for me when I get home, makes coming home so
good! She’s still very well behaved for 5 months old and fast learner!
-
My braces that
got taken off during my 1st trimester are getting put back on soon!!
So excited to continue with getting my teeth all straightened out after the minor
setback.
-
Today I made a
gluten free pumpkin loaf that is actually moist and delicious tasting. It actually has the texture of a normal
pumpkin loaf so I am very pleased!
